warning: some truth may no longer work
"Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time."

I know it's been a while since I've updated the site, but I haven't written any new songs, really, and most of my life is being documented on Livejournal anyway. Just one plea though - I've lost touch with an old, old friend of mine, Na Choon Piaw, or Piaw Na, a Berkeley grad who last I heard was working for Escalate, Inc. in Redwood City, CA. E-mails to the addresses I could find on Google have yielded no results, so if anyone knows how to get in touch with him... and Piaw, if you're reading this, please let me know.

By nagging demand from my sister, here's this song, and the MP3. It's the most depressing one I've written ever, so put away the razor blades before reading or lisntening. It's based on the story of the Butterfly Lovers. There's a variation which my mother used to tell which has the origins of the tragedy in a pair of heavenly spirits that fell in love, which was taboo, so were punished by being perpetually reincarnated to fall in love, be kept apart and die tragically. I've used this as a metaphor/springboard for the constant punishment people put themselves through in relationships. Enjoy. And don't worry - the sentiments in the song do not reflect the current state of mind of the composer.

The inevitable Episode II parody. No, it's not the obvious one. Take a look.

Yay, I've broken the songwriter's block I've had since, well, November, really. Parodies don't really count. Here's a very crude MP3 - forgive the background noise... the mike on Cassandra (my TiBook) isn't very good.

Ever since I wrote the original last year people have been making snarky comments about what they thought it was about. Bowing to the inevitable, I thought I'd better write the parody before someone else beat me to it...

Yeah, right, like you never thought of this pun before.
